Location - is located near to Horse Temple after the Khao Soi stall along Sriphoom Road, Chang Phuak Gate.
Also known as Wat Monthien or Dragon Temple, Wat Ratchamontian or Monthien. Opposite the Wat across the canal along Maninoparat Road is Wat Lok Molee, another old Wat worth looking at. This Wat looks very unique with its maroon and gold colour. Can say it is very attractive when the sun’s rays shine on it. It is a charm of Chiangmai old city. It starts with the large red spires sticking out of the wall surrounding the temple and continues as you approach Wat Ratchamontian's steps. Large, colorful dragons guard the entrance to the steep steps along with some help from chubby black farang statues. Even before you climb to the maroon doors of the Temple, you will notice a huge seated Buddha statue on a raised platform to your left. The inside in the upper level of the main Temple resembles a grand hall of a palace with open spaces, large red pillars and an imposing Buddha statue with ornamented clothes and head dress.
