My Mother at age 80 |
This is the first year, my mum and the family is having a Mother's Day dinner without my father with us [my mum's loving companion of 60 years]. My mum was quite reluctant to have this dinner at the restaurant probably because this time my Pa was not with us to enjoy the dinner with her and family. My Pa passed away in October 2011 and in actual fact we are still in mourning for him. It is a difficult year for us as many things and occasions were done without him for the first time.
Anyway, this is the first time my nephew is spending us because this is his first working year. In order not to dissappoint him, my mum agreed that we have a simple dinner with the family at a quiet restaurant in town.
Some of the family members enjoying some photo shots before the dinner. Memories are important for the family for the years to come.
The food served in the restaurant is basically Teochew cuisine. The cook is a friend of my sister. We were served big plates of goodies at very reasonable prices. Eventhough the food came in big, big plates and quantity, we managed to finish them.
Below are the photos of the restaurant and food served. A very unique restaurant with plenty of artifacts and collections.
