Thailand Trip Itinerary 2014 - Part 14 Haytai

Day 16 – Arrived Hatyai late at 5.00 pm instead of 7.20 am.
Train delayed almost 10 hours because of bad weather and the tracks were flooded before Chumphon. The train stopped at Chumphon for 8 hours before commencing journey.
Check in at:
PB Grand Hotel
468 RadUthid Road
Hatyai Songkhla 90110
Tel. [66]74-253811-2

The hotel is not in the town area. It’s a new hotel and the room is very spacious, clean and price is very reasonable. From here you can take a Tuk-Tuk to town [Lee Garden Hotel] for 20-40THB.

As the weather hasn't been good for days as we were told, we decided to stay just for a night and spend the morning for some shopping and also to arrange our transport back to Penang by mini van.
You can make the bookings at:

Hatyai S.B. Travel & Tour

15 Prachathipat Road [Opposite Centara Hotel]
Hatyai, Songkhla
90110 Thailand
Tel: 074-261712, 225373, 225424

The fare is 400THB per person. The van will pick you up at the hotel.
We had breakfast at the local market and did some shopping in the vicinity as it was raining and quite inconvenient to more around.
Noodles [Wantan Noodles or Kuay Chiap] at 50THB per bowl at the morning market place
Most things are bargainable but you may not be able to get the price you wanted. For food stuffs, they will reduce the price but cheat you on the weight.
Local Market Scenes , Hatyai Town
Dinner at a Chu Char Outlet, Hatyai town for 2 [220 THB]
Street Food Scene at Lee Garden Area, Hatyai at night
The journey from Hatyai to Penang is about 3 and 1/2 hours but there was a delay because of immigration problems faced by some other passengers that cos' a delay by 3 hours.
Pig Trotter Rice [60THB/plate]
Our lunch [Pig Trotter Rice] in the vicinity of Centara World,  Hatyai before leaving for Penang.
This is the final part of my Thailand Trip Itinerary 2014 from 2 to 18 November.  For this trip, we have travelled to Bangkok, Chiangmai, Chiang Rai, Ayutthaya and Hatyai.  It is a very satisfactory and fulfilling trip visiting many places, taking part in festive celebrations and enjoying lots of Thailand food and delicacies.
